Who are the Ironbound?
An oath of iron is heavier than a living heart.
Ironbound belongs to The Crownless. What is left of the shattered crown’s host. They arrive only with the Endless Swarm. As a tank: Slow and heavily armored. Tanks soak hits and block your escape routes.

Has no special attack: it hurts by touching you, and it is dangerous only in numbers.
How to handle it: Keep moving so the pack never closes the circle, and let area skills thin it out.
Floors
Where Ironbound appears
Ironbound never joins a floor’s regular horde. It arrives with the Endless Swarm that starts when the floor timer runs out, and its share of the swarm grows by the minute.
- Swarm minute 2: about 15% of the swarm
- Swarm minute 3: about 20% of the swarm
- Swarm minute 4 and beyond: about 18% of the swarm
Strategy
How to fight Ironbound
- Slow and heavily armored. Tanks soak hits and block your escape routes.
- Keep moving: a tank only wins when the pack closes the circle around you.
- Elite versions carry more health and hit harder; items that raise damage to elites pay off deeper down.
Skills that handle tanks well: Fireball, Arrow, Soul Reaper.
