What Barrier does
Grants a shield that absorbs incoming damage before it reaches HP.
Barrier is a level-up pick that raises Shield for the rest of the run. Every further pick adds another level, up to 60; rarer offers grant more per level.

Barrier acts on your hero rather than on one skill, so it fits every build. Melee heroes who stand in the horde get the most out of it.
Timing
When to take Barrier
Take it when the horde starts landing hits — usually around the first minibosses. One defensive potion early buys the time your damage needs to scale. Out of slots? The Thorn Archive on each floor’s plaza removes a potion, and the Diamond Trader sells extra potion slots.
