What Velocity does
Increases skill projectile speed. Summon bolts keep their pace.
Velocity is a level-up pick that raises Projectile Speed for the rest of the run. Every further pick adds another level, up to 60; rarer offers grant more per level.

Velocity multiplies a track these skills upgrade, so the two compound:
Arrow
Auto-fires at the current target, piercing up to 3 foes.
Fireball
Explodes on impact, damaging all nearby enemies.
Shuriken
Spinning stars that ricochet between enemies.
Phoenix
Flies over the horde to a distant foe, then bursts into flame.
Soul Reaper
A piercing crescent returns to you, hitting foes once each way.
Timing
When to take Velocity
Take it once two or three damage skills are in place: Velocity multiplies what you already have, so it is worth more with every skill you add. Out of slots? The Thorn Archive on each floor’s plaza removes a potion, and the Diamond Trader sells extra potion slots.
